Write Them on the Doorposts

One of my most favorite things to do is to collect and fill our home with scripture. What better way can I beautify our home? This keeps my mind heavenward & focused and it demonstrates to our children the beauty and authority of the Word - not to mention it helps in scripture memory!

I would love to give you a tour of our little home in Atoka, Tennessee. Come on in and make yourself at home . . .

Friends & family enter into the house from the garage door. And what better way to welcome guests - "Rejoice in the Lord!"

Welcome to the heart of the home - our kitchen!

A closer look at all the scripture that fills our kitchen:
Top (left) picture - (Philippians 4:8)
Middle picture - (Zephaniah 3:17)
Top (right) picture - "I don't know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow"

Right picture - (several different quotes from scripture)

Top (right) picture - (James 1:17)
Bottom (right) picture - (Psalm 136:1)
Black plaque above coffee maker - "Let us be silent that we may hear the whisper of God"

Beside our refrigerator -
Our kids are especially fond of this one! We recite it often!!

On our refrigerator -
As a daily reminder we hung up our church covenant, our church family prayer calendar, and a picture of the Hungarian missionaries that our family supports.

This is in one of the corners of our kitchen, near our breakfast table.
Top (right) picture - Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart . . ."
Bottom (right) picture - " And He shall be called . . . (all the names of Jesus)"
Top (left) picture - II Corinthians 5:7 "We walk by faith, not by sight"
Bottom (left) picture - Psalm 27:13-14 (my FAVORITE psalm)

This is on the other side of the breakfast table.
Top picture - "FAITH - to hope for things which are not seen, but are true"

I love this quirky "FAITH" metal sign above our pantry door.

We are HUGE Andy Griffith fans so we added a little taste of Mayberry!

A beautiful painting flanked by two scripture pictures -

This is one of our side tables beside the couch.
The burgundy box has Hebrews 11:1 printed on it.
The two framed photos are nature pictures I took that reflect the beauty of God's creation.

I love our fireplace mantel. A wonderful location to display pictures!

She is a brain cancer survivor!
Bottom picture - "The Lord will be with you wherever you go."

Top (right) picture - (Exodus 15:2)
Bottom (right) picture - (Matthew 5:8)
Left picture - Fruit of the Spirit

The oval picture (to the left) on the victrola has Philippians 4:8 written on it.

This is my favorite little spot.
The small black picture (to the right) has Romans 15:13 written on it.
The three black framed photos are more nature pictures that I took this past spring.

The large black & white picture on the wall is something I created -
I found the large metal cross at Kirklands. It has words of faith and encouragement written all over it. I then made a black frame to enclose the cross. I painted the wall white and then placed the words "Love, Hope, and "Faith" around the cross with sticky tape. I am awaiting a sign that reads "Jesus" to put in the right corner (the cornerstone). I will paint it red - to make it POP!

Front entrance hallway (connects the living room and the dining room)
Top black sign: "Love" (John 3:16 is printed out)

Other side of hallway -
Top picture - (I Corinthians 13:13)
Bottom picture - "Live by the Spirit - Love, Faith, Kindness, and Goodness"

A print surrounded by the phrase -
"Family is life's greatest blessing."
